I started teaching out of the old cheese factory building in 2016 after years of throwing pots at my kitchen table. These days it's me and a couple of casual tutors, small classes, and a kiln that runs most weeks.

It's a shared bench in a converted dairy factory with good light and a very old radio. Most people who come through are locals having a go for the first time, not artists, and that suits me fine.

Before you come

Questions people ask

Do I need experience?No, everything is taught from scratch and most people have never touched clay or a saw before.
When do I get my piece?Pottery is glazed and fired after class, so allow 2–3 weeks for collection. Silver pieces are usually ready within a week for polishing and finishing.
Can I collect later than that?Yes, pieces are kept on the shelf until you come in, there's no rush.
What should I wear?Something you don't mind getting clay or polishing compound on, aprons are provided but sleeves get in the way.
Do you run private classes?Yes for groups of four or more, get in touch and I'll find a time that suits.
